The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has issued an order banning the access of outsiders, stating that they can only enter with the prior approval of senior authorities, days after many AAP MLAs visited Municipal Corporation of Delhi-run schools and highlighted their “poor condition.”

The order also states that no visitor shall be permitted to take pictures or films of the school campuses and that anyone attempting to enter the property forcibly shall be reported to the authorities.

A senior official stated that the order was issued on Tuesday and provided a copy of the order.

“In order to make school a safe and secure place for all concerned, including students, staff and parents, the entry of outsiders should be given with due permission of the department only,” said the order issued by the education department.

On September 3, the AAP legislators, including the party’s chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj, live-streamed their visit to the schools on social media, highlighting the “poor condition” of their buildings, classrooms, restrooms, and campuses. The legislators also criticised the BJP for questioning the Delhi government’s spending on the construction of its schools.

The BJP-led Centre presently controls the combined MCD. The BJP formerly controlled Delhi’s three municipal corporations before they were united early this year.

“MCD denies that its school infrastructure is poorer than Delhi government-run schools,” the civic body had said in a statement hour after their visit.

The veterinary department of Shahdara (North) Zone, meanwhile, claimed in a statement that it had sealed an illegal dairy at Janta Colony on Wednesday.

Additionally, the owner of the “illegal dairy” has been given a notice for fostering “insanitary conditions.” The MCD stated that this action was taken in response to complaints and that more will be done to stop illegal dairies in the future.
