BJP MP demands Gandhis to reveal their assets after ED summons in National Herald case

Enforcement Directorate’s summons of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav demanded that they reveal their assets on Thursday

Following the Enforcement Directorate’s summons of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav demanded that they reveal their assets on Thursday.

The case was previously closed in 2015, and the reopening came after the agency questioned senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress Treasurer Pawan Bansal in April this year as part of its money laundering investigation into the National Herald case.

On June 2, the agency invited Rahul Gandhi to join the investigation, while Sonia Gandhi was asked on June 8. However, because he was out of the country on Thursday, Rahul did not appear for the investigation.

According to Yadav, “No criminal will admit to being a criminal. Why are they worried if they are innocent? What is the Gandhi family’s source of income? They should make their wealth known to the rest of the country.”

Responding to the Congress’ claim that the BJP is engaging in’vendetta politics,’ Yadav said that those who engage in corruption should face severe punishment.

“This is something that every crook says. Corruption should be punished, and those who engage in it should face severe penalties “he stated.

Yadav went on to say “We’ve been in power for eight years and there hasn’t been a single allegation of corruption levelled against any minister. The BJP has a zero-tolerance policy for corruption.”

Taking a dig at the Congress party for its dismal showing in the early-year Assembly elections, the BJP MP claimed that the great old party is “vanishing.”
