The entire nation mourns the loss of the legendary radio personality Ameen Sayani. At his funeral in Mumbai, numerous celebrities, including Nitin Mukesh, Ustad Zakir Hussain, and others, bid their final farewells.

Dalip Tahil and Ila Arun were among those who attended the funeral rites, paying their respects to the iconic figure.

Ameen Sayani passed away following a heart attack late on Tuesday, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

Born on December 21, 1932, in Mumbai, Sayani rose to fame with his melodious voice and captivating style. Initially starting as an English-language broadcaster, he later transitioned to Hindi, becoming a household name.

Sayani’s iconic radio show ‘Binaca Geetmala’ gained immense popularity, captivating audiences nationwide. His distinct introduction, “Namaskar bhaiyon aur behno, main aapka dost Ameen Sayani bol raha hoon” (Hello everyone, this is your host and friend Ameen Sayani), endeared him to millions of listeners and became iconic.

Over his illustrious career, Sayani produced and featured in over 54,000 radio programs and 19,000 jingles since 1951.

Introduced to All India Radio, Bombay by his brother Hamid Sayani, Ameen began his journey with Radio Ceylon in 1952. He also made appearances in several films including ‘Bhoot Bungla,’ ‘Teen Devian,’ ‘Boxer,’ and ‘Qatl.’

His passing has left an irreplaceable void, but his voice will continue to resonate through the corridors of time, immortalizing his legacy.
