Officials from the Department of Information Technology, Chandigarh Administration, stated on Friday that they had submitted all information related to the street furniture for Chandigarh, one of 13 locations where 5G would shortly be implemented.

“The vendors will mount street furniture—small towers or transmitters—atop poles and other structures. We are simply following the government’s instructions, and we have supplied information regarding the street furniture in accordance with those instructions,” a top member of the UT administration claimed.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) said in a statement on Thursday that 13 cities will soon provide 5G services.

Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune are the 13 cities that will receive the network at first.

Make sure your phone is capable of using the 5G network if you don’t want to lose out on this impending technological advancement. Follow these instructions on your Android phone to verify. Be aware that it’s crucial to verify whether your network service provider supports a 5G network before checking your phone for the technology:

Go to the Settings app on your phone.

— Click or tap “Wi-Fi & Network”

— Next, select “SIM & Network.”

— Your phone’s list of supported technologies will be available.

If your phone supports 5G, you will see 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G. A 5G-capable smartphone will also support 4G and 3G.

According to sources, telecom firms including Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea have already set up their 5G testing sites.
