Stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava went into cardiac arrest while working out in a gym and was admitted to AIIMS today.


He got chest discomfort while using a treadmill in a gym and passed out. His trainer drove him to AIIMS, where he received twice CPR and was brought back to life.


“Srivastava was rushed to the catherterisation lab after he was resuscitated twice for emergency angiography,” reported the news agency.


Sunil Pal, his comrade in stand-up comedy informed in an Instagram post that Srivastava is out of danger.


Mr Srivastava has been active in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s, he’s one of the most famous stand-up comedians in the country.


He rose to success after participating in the first seasons of the stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.”


Mr Srivastava is the current chairman of the Film Development Council Uttar Pradesh, and has appeared in Hindi films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Baazigar’, ‘Bombay to Goa’, and ‘Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya’. He also appeared as a contestant in the third season of ‘Bigg Boss’.
