Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, moved a confidence motion in the special assembly session on Friday, amid allegations that the BJP was attempting to destabilise his government by allegedly offering Rs 20 crore to AAP legislators to switch sides.
Kejriwal proposed the resolution, which expressed confidence in his government’s policies. The resolution approves the AAP government’s education and health policies in Delhi.
The resolution says, “The House notes that the elected government of Delhi has performed exceedingly well on all parameters of social welfare schemes. This House further notes that the work done by the Government of Delhi in different fields, especially in the field of education and health, has been recognised and appreciated not only in India but the world over… The House congratulates the government led by Shri Arvind Kejriwal for all the development works done in different fields during the last seven years. This House further notes with deep concern the activities of some forces which are bent upon creating an environment that is not conducive to the ongoing good development works. This House exhorts the government to continue the good work without getting demotivated by inimical forces.”
The motion was initiated after Kejriwal made an attack against the BJP terming it a “serial killer” of Opposition-ruled governments in states. According to the chief minister, his legislators were each offered Rs 20 crore to leave the party and join the BJP.
