According to reports, Congress Working Committee (CWC) resolved on Sunday that the election for Congress president will take place on October 17.
Vote tallying will take place on October 19. The final agenda for the Congress president election is now being discussed in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting.
Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, party general secretary, participated in the meeting virtually. Dr. Manmohan Singh, a former prime minister, also participated electronically at the meeting.
Senior party leader Gulam Nabi Azad’s resignation on Friday serves as a backdrop to this.
As a result of Rahul Gandhi’s hesitation to run for president, the sources had claimed that Congress now faces a struggle in the election.

According to sources, despite ongoing efforts to persuade Rahul Gandhi, the process appears to be stopped since he is unwilling to run for president of the Congress.
Rahul Gandhi, party’s leader, will lead the 148-day Bharat Jodo Yatra, which Congress plans to start from Kanyakumari on September 7. The march will end in Kashmir.
Over 12 states and a distance of 3,500 kilometres are to be visited throughout the five-month yatra. Every day, the padayatra (march) will travel 25 kilometres.
Senior Congress officials including Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will attend padayatras, rallies, and public meetings that are part of the yatra.
