'DDLJ' to rerun in theatres on SRK's 57th birthday

Shah Rukh Khan’s admirers have a special place in their hearts on his birthday. Plenty of admirers enjoy binge-watching the actor’s classic movies on Nov 2.

For SRKians, Wednesday will be extra special because his classic movie “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (DDLJ) is making a comeback. On November 2, there will be a special showing of the Aditya Chopra-directed film at a number of theatres as a memorial to SRK.

The Yash Raj Films main social media account posted the news.

“Our favourite love story is coming back to the silver screen. Watch Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge on 2nd November, 2022 only in Indian Theatres @pvrcinemas_official @inoxmovies @cinepolisindia @iamsrk @kajol #AdityaChopra,” a post read.

The actor has received nothing but unreserved adoration in the comment section.

A social media user wrote, “Eagerly awaiting SRK’s birthday so that I may see DDLJ on the big screen.”

Another person commented, “SRK rocks. Can’t keep quiet.”

In addition to Kajol, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Parmeet Sethi, Mandira Bedi, and Anupam Kher, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” was released in 1995. Raj, who in the movie is played by Shah Rukh, falls in love with Simran (Kajol).

The movie eventually broke the record for the longest-running Hindi movie ever. Additionally, DDLJ received a record-breaking (at the time) 10 Filmfare Awards, and the movie essentially transformed Bollywood on a worldwide scale.
