Following the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s guideline ‘Guidelines for International Passengers,’ the Ministry of Civil Aviation has begun random post-arrival testing for international arrivals at Delhi Airport, said Dr. Gauri Agarwal, Founder, Genestrings Diagnostic Center on Sunday.
“On average, around 25,000 passengers arrive at the IGI Delhi Airport, with 500 randomly selected people being evaluated. Genestrings had completed around 110 tests by the end of the first day “stated Dr. Gauri.
According to the government’s latest directives, 2% of all passengers arriving at foreign airports must undergo random post-arrival testing at Delhi Airport beginning December 24. This is being done to limit the possibility of the new COVID-19 version BF.7 entry into India.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 201 new COVID-19 infections in India in the previous 24 hours on Saturday.
India presently has 3,397 active cases, accounting for 0.01 percent of all cases. The current recovery rate is 98.8 percent. In the previous 24 hours, 183 recoveries were made, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,41,42,791.
The daily positivity rate was 0.15 percent, with a weekly positivity rate of 0.14 percent.
According to the Health Ministry, 1,05,044 COVID-19 dosages were provided in the previous 24 hours.
Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday announced that an RT-PCR test will be required for all overseas arrivals.
