According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the national capital’s air quality was classified as “extremely poor” on Saturday morning with an AQI of 337.
The city’s total AQI was 324 on Friday morning. In the National Capital Region (NCR), Gurugram recorded an AQI of 346 and remained in the “very poor category,” while Noida recorded an AQI of 353, placing it in the same category as Gurugram.
All significant monitoring stations in the nation’s capital recorded AQI readings that fell into the “very poor” category.
The AQI in Pusa was 341 whereas the AQI in Dhirpur was 306. Lodhi Road had a reading of 313, Delhi Airport (T3) had a reading of 373, and Mathura Road had a reading of 341. IIT Delhi’s AQI was in the “extremely low” category at 334, while Delhi University was 351 overall. Ayanagar was similarly towards the bottom of the “poor” category at 336 at 9:50 on Saturday.
An AQI of 0 to 50 is regarded as “excellent,” 51 to 100 as “acceptable,” 101 to 200 as “moderate,” 201 to 300 as “poor,” 301 to 400 as “extremely poor,” and 401 to 500 as “severe.”
Following the critical situation, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has issued a passenger alert owing to reduce visibility under the heavy layer of fog engulfing the nation’s capital.
