Dimple Yadav Takes Oath as Lok Sabha MP Today

Dimple Yadav, the newly elected Lok Sabha MP from the Samajwadi Party, took the oath of office on Monday.

Dimple Yadav, a recently elected Samajwadi Party politician, took her oath as a Lok Sabha MP on Monday.

On December 8, she won the parliamentary byelection in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh. Dimple Yadav is serving her second mandate as a lower house representative. From May 2012 until May 2019, she served as a Kannauj MP in the Lok Sabha.

Following the passing of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party and Dimple Yadav’s father-in-law, the Mainpuri parliamentary seat became vacant in October.

On December 5, a byelection was held, and more than 56% of eligible voters cast ballots.

Raghuraj Singh Shakya of the BJP was beaten by Dimple Yadav by a large margin of more than 2.5 lakh votes. The Samajwadi Party is seen as having strongholds in Mainpuri.

At the age of 82, Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away on October 10 at the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

Dimple Yadav, a joint candidate of the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party, was defeated by Subrata Pathak of the BJP by a margin of more than 10,000 votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj.
