Emmy Awards Delayed Amidst Actors and Writers' Strike

The postponement is the first for the Emmy Awards in over twenty years

The 2023 Emmy Awards have been rescheduled from their usual September airdate due to ongoing strikes by actors and writers against media conglomerates, as reported by media. The original date of September 18 is no longer being considered, and a new date has yet to be set.

The TV Academy and Fox, the 2023 broadcaster, are currently in negotiations to determine the exact rescheduled date, which is expected to be after SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America reach an agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

The postponement is the first for the Emmy Awards in over twenty years. Despite the change in the ceremony date, phase two voting for the Emmy Awards is still proceeding as planned, with TV Academy members set to vote on the nominees starting from August 17. The uncertainty remains whether the 2023 Emmys will be handed out in 2023 or delayed further.
