Facebook app for Smart TVs may no longer be available on Apple TV

Facebook app for smart TVs, which lets users watch a variety of films, programmes, and live streaming on the platform, may no longer be available on Apple TV

According to 9to5Mac, the Facebook app for smart TVs, which lets users watch a variety of films, programmes, and live streaming on the platform, may no longer be available on Apple TV. After the app’s most recent upgrade, some users claim they can no longer access it.

The Facebook Watch TV app is no longer accessible, but you can still discover tonnes of videos on Facebook at www.facebook.com/watch, according to a post on MacRumors by a user who tried to launch Facebook Watch on an Apple TV 4K.

As per reports, several other people have reported experiencing a similar experience. In 2017, Facebook expanded the availability of its Watch app from Samsung Smart TVs to Apple TV. Along with Facebook’s mobile app and desktop website, the app is also accessible on a number of other smart TVs and gaming consoles.

However, users who want to keep using the Watch app on Apple TV should be able to cast Watch from their phone to their TV, but this clearly isn’t as handy as just launching an app.

It’s unclear if the Facebook Watch app has been totally deleted from the Apple TV or whether its absence is the result of a glitch introduced by the most recent update.

One of the platforms that Facebook Watch supports is still Apple TV. The Verge did not immediately hear back from Apple or Facebook after contacting them for comment.
