In a shocking incident, in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, a mother allegedly subjected her 10-year-old daughter to assault and torture to cover up the repeated sexual abuse the girl suffered at the hands of her mother’s male friend.

According to a report by NDTV, the minor girl was assaulted and tortured by the mother to protect her male friend. The mother of the minor girl was also planning to force her daughter into prostitution. The report also stated that the man had sexually abused the minor’s 13-year old- brother as well

The incident was reported on January 20 when the girl was found wandering the streets of Delhi after she allegedly fled her home in order to escape the torture. She was taken into custody by the Delhi Police and was later put into the care of the Child Welfare Committee.

While giving her statement to the police, the minor victim revealed that her father had died four years ago after which she and her brother had been living with her grandparents. However, last year, both the kids were taken back by their mother who was residing in Ghaziabad. While living with the mother, the victim experienced repeated sexual assault by her mother’s male friend who had also sexually abused her brother. Her brother had reportedly left home earlier due to the abuse.

The tipping point for the girl occurred when she discovered her mother’s engagement in prostitution after her father’s demise and learned of her mother’s plan to involve her in the same profession.

It was revealed in the medical examination of the victim that the 10-year-old was raped and sexually abused repeatedly.

The Delhi police have arrested the girl’s mother and her male companion. Additionally, the police have also noted that despite her children being missing since January, the woman did not file a missing complaint.
