A murder investigation has been initiated, with a dog unit, search teams, and forensic specialists deployed. Authorities are scouring a secluded wooded area for additional body parts, although nothing further has been found yet. However, a postmortem examination will be conducted to establish the identity of the deceased.

Chief Superintendent Tony Creely, Salford district commander, announced in a press conference that the investigation into the tragic incident is progressing swiftly, confirming that the victim, a man, could not have survived.

“At the heart of our investigation is this man and his family. We are using all forensic techniques available to identify him as soon as we can so we are able to support his loved ones during this devastating time.” He stated that the police are yet to identify if the victim is a male or female.

The discovery of the remains wrapped in plastic was made by a local on Thursday evening, prompting the police’s immediate response to the wooded area.

Initial assessments by the police suggested that the deceased was an adult. The forensic team is not expected to determine the cause of death due to the absence of the complete body.
