Second phase of Haryana Panchayat election underway

In the 142 panchayats of Haryana’s Rohtak, voting for the second round of Sarpanch Panch elections is now taking place.

In the 142 panchayats of Haryana’s Rohtak, voting for the second round of Sarpanch Panch elections is now taking place.

The second voting period began at 7 am and will go until 6 pm today. There are 142 Gram Panchayats and 1,837 Panch positions in Rohtak, of which 1,192 were filled without opposition and 53 vacancies went unfilled.

There were 529 voting places set up for the Panchayati Raj institutions’ general elections, 77 of which were designated as sensitive and 89 as hypersensitive.

Polling staff Sanjay reported that once the district administration evaluated them, the polling parties had already departed for the booth centres.

In the Panchayati Raj Institutions elections are being held for the district’s Zilla Parishad, five Panchayat Samitis, and 142 Gram Panchayats. Following this, 4,58,319 rural voters have cast their votes.

In the Zilla Parishad, 4,58,032 people cast ballots, comprising 2,10,080 women and 4 other people and 2 lakh 47 thousand 948 men.

People who were 90 years of age or older were also among the voters.
