On Sunday, five more bodies were discovered in Himachal Pradesh as the death toll from the heavy rain reached 27. In addition, landslides and sliding boulders have blocked up to 96 roadways. To reopen the obstructed routes, work is being done nonstop. The Saturday that had the most precipitation also saw 21 fatalities. Three persons in the Chamba district perished instantaneously early on Saturday morning after a house was destroyed by a landslide. A Rs 30,000 emergency relief grant was given to the deceased’s family members.

In two distinct places, three bodies were found, and at least five persons were listed as missing as Sunday’s rescue operations, which had started on Saturday in response to widespread flooding and cloudbursts in multiple districts of Uttarakhand, continued. Two deaths were found in Gwad village in the Tehri Garhwal district, according to the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and a third body was found in the Raipur neighborhood of Dehradun.

Gujarat has received a three-day, until August 24, heavy rainfall warning from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). On Monday, Ahmedabad is likely to get one or two periods of light to moderate rain mixed with thundershowers. According to the weather bulletin, Kutch district is likely to have heavy rain on August 24 in certain remote locations.
