UP to Begin Teaching Engineering, Medical Courses in Hindi, CM Yogi Confirms

According to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath, medical and engineering degrees will also start being taught in Hindi.

In a tweet, Yogi “A few technical and medical textbooks have been translated into Hindi. From the next academic year, students will be able to study certain topics in Hindi.”

The news comes days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the country’s first MBBS textbook in Hindi in Bhopal on Sunday (October 16).

Sunday’s gathering in Bhopal was addressed by the Home Minister, who said: “Today is a crucial day for India’s educational system. This day will be memorialised in gold letters whenever history is written in the future.”

Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the nation to begin the MBBS programme in Hindi. Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry are the first three disciplines chosen to be studied in Hindi.

At Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, a group of 97 professionals has been working on the book preparation for the last 232 days. The novels have been converted from English to Hindi.

Vishwas Sarang, the minister of medical education for the state of Madhya Pradesh, claimed on Sunday that the decision will significantly enhance education in Hindi.

The experts said that a few additional chapters, such as those on sodium, potassium, water homeostasis, biochemistry techniques, radiation, radioisotopes, and environmental pollutants and toxins, have been applied to the new edition of Medical Biochemistry.

Additionally, additional line diagrams, tables, and text boxes have been included to help readers remember the material.

In the lower limb and abdominal parts of the Anatomy edition, additional chapters on surface anatomy have also been introduced. To help students retain more information, new line diagrams, CT and MRI diagram tables, and flow charts have been introduced.
