According to local media, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been asked by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to respond in the matter involving illegal fundraising.

Chief of Election Commission Sikandar Sultan Raja allowed PTI two weeks during the hearing of the case involving unlawful funds and postponed the hearing to September 6, according to ARY News. Anwar Mansoor Khan’s assistant appeared before the ECP and asked for four weeks to deliver a response and any necessary supporting documentation.

CEC questioned the attorney as to why more time was needed if PTI has previously submitted the necessary paperwork in the case.

According to ECP’s ruling in the PTI forbidden financing issue, numerous things needed to be addressed, thus requested documentation from PTI international chapter.

CEC Raja denied PTI’s request for a four-week window in which to submit its documentation but awarded PTI two weeks instead.

A six-person investigative team has been assembled by the Federal Investigation Agency to begin an investigation into the PTI issue involving banned money.
