2 Indigo staffers apprehended for aiding gold smuggling at Karipur airport

At Kozhikode International Airport (also known as Karipur airport), the customs authorities detained two IndiGo Airlines employees on suspicion of aiding in the smuggling of gold on Thursday.

Sajid Rehman, a senior executive, and Mohammad Samil, a customer care representative, have been named as the defendants.

According to reports, the suspects were detained for aiding in the smuggling of 4.9 kg of gold worth Rs 2.5 crore from outside. The gold was discovered in the luggage of a traveller who abandoned it at the airport before escaping.

Gold smuggling cases have been recorded from airports all throughout the nation.
