JNU students clash with security guards over scholarship fund: Delhi Police

A fight broke out between a group of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students and the school’s security personnel on Monday, according to Delhi Police.

Information indicates that the students wanted the distribution of scholarships that had been “pending” for two years.

Police officer claimed “When the JNU security personnel arrived and attempted to remove the students, the students launched a demonstration outside the administrative office. A fight broke out between students and the on-duty security personnel.”

The police insisted that they had not heard any complaints on the event. According to police, “No complaints regarding this have been made up to this point. When received, the necessary legal action will be done.”

According to reports, a few kids were hurt in the altercation. “JNU security thrashed and dragged the students at the request of VC Rector. Several students were harmed,” JNU chapter of the BJP’s youth wing ABVP tweeted.

JNU ABVP shared a video of the event on Twitter along with the following statement “After exposing JNU’s corruption, when the ABVP JNU activists were fighting for JNU students’ long-stalled scholarships, the goons of the Rector posted as the JNU’s security guard attacked the students. #JNURector must resign #JNURector gunda hai.”

Naxil JNU Students were assaulted by administrators for seeking their legitimate fellowships. Even the female students and those from Divyang were not spared by the security. Many students have suffered significant injuries, and student blood has stained the fellowship area.

ABVP JNU tweeted, “#ShameOnJNUAdmin@JNU official 50.”

ABVP JNU stated in another tweet, “The students who are speaking up for their rights have paid this price. A famous institution is being governed by the JNU Rector and his cronies as their personal property.”

However, university’s management chose not to comment on the matter.
