According to a local media station in Afghanistan, Zabiullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesperson, has denied that JeM commander Maulana Masood Azhar is in Afghanistan and claims that he is in Pakistan instead.

According to reports cited by the local media, Pakistan has issued a letter to Afghanistan requesting that the country extradite Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) head Maulana Masood Azhar, who is believed to be present in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar and Kanhar provinces.

Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, responded to the letter by saying, “The Jaesh-e-Mohammed group’s commander is not present in Afghanistan. This is a potential Pakistani organisation.

Regardless, he is not in Afghanistan, and we have not been questioned in a manner similar to this. The news has mentioned it to us. We respond by saying that this is untrue “according to the local media outlet.

Furthermore, according to the Taliban-run Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), such accusations might harm ties between Kabul and Islamabad. “We also urge all parties to desist from making accusations without supporting evidence. These media charges may harm bilateral ties “claimed Taliban spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkhi.

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global watchdog with offices in Paris, compelled Islamabad to take action against some of the UN-designated terrorists by dangling the option of being removed from the grey list at this time.

Notably, FATF’s consistent pressure on Pakistan led to that country’s recent action against Lashkar e Taiba (LeT) operational chief Sajid Mir, who Pakistan had been pronouncing dead up until this point.

Azhar, according to Pakistan, is most likely in Afghanistan and is not present there. He continues to publish articles on Pakistani social media networks encouraging JeM cadres to engage in jihad and praising the Taliban takeover of Kabul, claiming that Taliban victory would open doors for Muslim victories elsewhere, despite Pakistan’s assertions that he is untraceable.
