Instagram restricts Kanye West's account

Instagram account of rapper Kanye West has been blocked for breaking the platform’s rules.

The organisation reportedly removed items from Kanye West’s Instagram account, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Additionally, a limitation has been put on the account, which is still viewable. Following repeated infractions, Meta has a policy of placing limits on users, which may temporarily bar the user from sharing posts, leaving comments, or sending direct messages. Using the account @kanyewest on the platform, West recently uploaded a now-deleted tweet that included a screenshot of a message that was purportedly delivered to the rapper Diddy but was denounced as antisemitic by Jewish advocacy organisations including the American Jewish Committee.

After a protracted absence, Kanye made his way back to Twitter where he lambasted Meta chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, tweeting, in part, “How you gone take me off instagram.” Welcome back to Twitter, my buddy, said Elon Musk in response to West’s tweet, which this week disclosed intentions to acquire Twitter.

Kanye previously encountered limitations on Instagram. The rapper was taken off the stage in March for a whole day. In that event, content from West’s account was also removed for breaking the rules against hate speech, bullying, and harassment.
