Madgaon Express Box-Office: Kunal Kemmu’s Directorial Debut Rakes-In ₹7.10 Crore On Day 3

Madgaon Express, the new comedy-drama directed by first-time filmmaker Kunal Kemmu, has picked momentum at the box office after a slow start. The movie, featuring Avinash Tiwari, Divyendu Sharma, and Prateek Gandhi as the lead protagonists, opened to low numbers on March 22 but witnessed a significant jump in collections over the weekend.

According to official reports, the Excel Entertainment production earned an impressive ₹2.85 crore on Sunday, bringing its total haul to ₹7.10 crore net in India after 3 days in theatres. This outpaced the box office performance of Randeep Hooda’s directorial debut Swatantra Veer Savarkar, which has made ₹5.90 crore net so far. Both films were produced on budgets of around ₹20 crore. Notably, the bromance film registered an overall 18.90% occupancy on Sunday, March 24 fueled by strong evening shows.

Madgaon Express, backed by Excel Entertainment founders Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, marks Kunal Kemmu’s first outing as a director. The comedy revolves around the adventures of three friends played by Divyendu, Avinash, and Pratik, with Nora Fatehi in a lead female role.

With the film gaining traction after the weekend, industry analysts and viewers now eagerly await its performance in the coming days, especially with the Holi festivities expected to provide an added boost.
