12 people killed in Mexico bar shooting

According to authorities, twelve persons were shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in the city of Irapuato in the Mexican state of Guanajuato on Sunday.

The municipal administration made a statement on Twitter that said, “Security forces promptly went to the scene, where paramedics treated three injured persons and verified the death of six men and six women.” The statement further said that search efforts for the perpetrators are still underway.

This event occurred less than a month after a shooting that left 18 people dead in southwest Mexico.

According to local sources, the gunmen opened fire at the municipal hall in the state of Guerrero, killing more than a dozen persons including the mayor.

San Miguel Totolapan city is where this shooting took place, and pictures of it circulated via Twitter.

Jacob Morales A, a journalist from Mexico, stated in a tweet, “They affirm that there was a child under the age of 12 among the more than 20 fatalities in San Miguel Totolapan. Mexico #Violencia #Guerrero The fair’s rides were being put up in the city’s centre, in front of the Town Hall.”

The death of Conrado Mendoza Almeda, mayor of San Miguel Totolapan, was sincerely grieved by Guerrero State Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda. The gunshot incident is the most recent in a string of assaults that have alarmed Mexico recently.
