DIG said “The accused is a wanted criminal with Rs 50,000 reward attached. He ran away from there (Bharatpur village). They were held prisoner and had their guns seized when our police unit arrived.”

He further added “Our five police officers sustained injuries and are receiving medical attention. The death of a woman in this event has been confirmed by Uttarkhand police.”

According to the Uttarakhand Police, they would act fairly and legally in this case.
