Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress leaders, including former MLA Arunoday Choubey and Shivdayal Bagri, officially switched their allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bhopal on Monday, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in attendance. The BJP Madhya Pradesh chapter cited the leaders’ admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and developmental endeavors as the primary motivation behind their decision.

CM Mohan Yadav, addressing party workers, expressed confidence that Arunoday Choubey’s induction would significantly bolster the BJP’s prospects in the Sagar parliamentary constituency during the upcoming polls. He reiterated that all new members would be accorded respect within the BJP, emphasizing its ethos as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s extended family.

State President Vishnu Dutt Sharma highlighted that the influx of prominent Congress leaders into the BJP reflected their recognition of India’s escalating global standing under PM Modi’s leadership. He assured the new BJP members of a familial atmosphere within the party.

Arunoday Choubey, explaining his switch from Congress to BJP, attributed it to his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and India’s growing international reputation. Despite his longstanding association with the Congress, Choubey felt compelled to align with the BJP due to its policies and the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.

The event witnessed the presence of MP and State BJP President VD Sharma, alongside former minister Narottam Mishra, underscoring the significance of the occasion within the party’s ranks.
