Special flight for 27 young cancer patients, an initiative by Mumbai International Airport

27 young cancer patients took off on a special flight from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on August 16.

The flight was sponsored by All India Mahila Adhikari Party through Cancer Patient Sahayata Sangh. The Star Air flight, chartered by Air Charter Service India (ACS), took 27 children aged 8 to 14 years into the airspace around the Mumbai International Airport.

Young passengers were welcomed by ACS at CSMIA’s Terminal 1 and received special services, including surprise gifts and refreshments before their first flight.


After their flight, young cancer patients were greeted with more gifts, including ‘Plant your own garden set’, which encourages young children to interact more with nature and develop a green thumb .
While addressing young cancer patients and their gurdians, CSMIA spokesperson said, “Ensuring a memorable travel experience for passengers has always been at the core of CSMIA Mumbai’s operations.”

Furthur he added, “And when the passengers are special children, we simply had to go all out to ensure that they had a great time before and after their first flight. This program is in line with our Growth with Goodness philosophy and we are privileged to support this effort to bring cheer to these extraordinarily brave children.”

Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) is managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) which is a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of the globally diversified Adani Group
MIAL is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) venture between the Airports Authority of India (AAI), which owns a 26% minority stake and holds the majority stake (74%), and AAHL.
