In Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district, a 19-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide after failing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG-2022 examinations, according to Chennai Police on Thursday.

She was discovered hanging in her home.

Last night, the NEET results were announced.
According to the police, Laksha Swetha, a resident of Cholapuram in Indira Nagar in Thirumullaivoyal, has been identified as the dead.

The student was also enrolled in the Philippines’ second-year MBBS programme.

Swetha, who graduated from Class 12 in 2019, was the daughter of a headmistress of a government school. Before relocating to the Philippines, she shared a residence with her mother because her mother had cut ties with her father.

“After seeing her failure, she hanged herself with a shawl in the hall and died. At 3:30, his mother Amuda called for an ambulance. and The mother rushed her daughter to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital (KMCH), Kilpauk, Chennai,” said police.

A medical student who was 21 years old and studying for the NEET died by suicide earlier on September 2. Her name was Rajalakshmi.

According to rumours, Rajalakshmi, who took the NEET test for the third time, killed herself because the online release of the answer keys caused her to lose hope that she would pass and realise her father’s ambition of becoming a doctor.

Another 17-year-old girl committed herself in Kallakurichi last month after allegedly being tortured by teachers.

Tanishka from Rajasthan received the highest score out of the 17.64 lakh applicants who took the medical entrance test in the NEET UG-2022 results, which were released on Wednesday evening.

Vatsa Ashish Batra of Delhi and Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule of Karnataka finished second and third, respectively.
