According to Greater Noida authority authorities, Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, will go to the city on October 31 to open a Yotta hyper-scale data centre at Knowledge Park-V. The event, which will also be attended by Ashwini Vaishnaw, the federal minister for railways, communications, electronics, and information technology, and Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the minister of state for electronics and information technology, has been planned as a result of the visit.
The Uttar Pradesh government allocated land for the project in 2020, and Yotta began construction on its first 20-acre data centre in January 2021. Three data centres are being built in Greater Noida by Yotta Infrastructure, a Mumbai-based subsidiary of the Hiranandani Group. The other two centres are currently under development.
The first data centre park in the area will have six interconnected buildings with a total capacity of 30,000 racks and more than 250 MW of operating electricity. The park is expected to cost 7000 crores. Additionally, the project would create both direct and indirect jobs, according to Deep Chand, the assistant chief executive officer of the Greater Noida authority.
The administration is also working on the Ganga water project, which, if all preparations are finished, might be launched by the CM on the same day. On September 7 of this year, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary DS Mishra visited the Ganga water supply project and gave the authorities instructions to finish the work before the CM’s arrival.
By April 30, 2021, water will begin being delivered to houses participating in the project, the Greater Noida government said in January 2021. The project hasn’t been finished yet because the deadline was missed. In reality, since the authorities began working on it in 2005, more than 15 years ago, the project has missed a number of dates. The initial completion date for the Ganga water delivery project was 2005. The project would supply 85 cusecs of Ganga water to Greater Noida homes for a cost of Rs. 800 crore.
“Almost all of the work on the Ganga water project has been finished. However, because yearly de-silting work is being done in the upper Ganga canal, the water delivery may be delayed. By October 28, we anticipate receiving water supplies from the canal. If we are able to make the deadline, the CM will launch the project, according to Salil Yadav, general manager of the Greater Noida authority.
