Earlier on Sunday in Srinagar, orchards in the Parimpora area were recovered. The bag was promptly taken by the police, who are now conducting additional inquiries into the incident.

The security forces earlier on Saturday discovered weapons and ammunition after raiding rumoured terrorist hideout in the Ramban area of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to an official statement, a combined search operation between J&K Police and 23 RR Army was started in the woodland region of district’s tehsil Khari.

The statement quoted that security forces busted a suspected militant hideout and Arms and ammunition among other things were recovered from the spot after acting quickly on the information.

“A joint search operation of JK Police and 23 RR Army was launched in the forest area and suspected hideout locations were searched,” it said.

Weapons and ammunition were found, including 310 Ak-47 rounds in rusted condition, 30 9mm rounds in rusted condition, one 9mm magazine, six Ak-47 magazines in rusted condition, one grenade, one tape recorder, one handset with antenna, two cassettes, three battery terminals, and one negative photo film in rusted or damaged condition.
