Several leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, DMK MP TR Baalu, Harsimrat Kaur Badal (SAD), and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury (Congress), are present at the meeting. The Winter Session will start on December 7 and end on December 29. Due to the Gujarat election timetable, the session was also postponed by a month.

The Rajya Sabha Secretariat has issued a Code of Conduct for its members, one day before the Parliament’s Winter Session begins on Wednesday.

The winter session will last through December 29, 2022, with a total of 17 working days.

On the first day, the Lok Sabha will pay respect to members who died during the inter-session recess. Mulayam Singh Yadav, the father of the Samajwadi Party, died in October.

This will be the first session that Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar would preside over as Rajya Sabha Chairman.

Parliament had its monsoon session from July 18 to August 8.

The union administration has scheduled 16 new measures for the winter session of Parliament, which begins on December 7.
