RaGa resumes Bharat Jodo Yatra from Karnataka

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi continued the 36th day of the Bharat Jodo march from Bommagondanahalli.

With a goal of travelling 3,500 kilometres from Kanniyakumari to Jammu and Kashmir, Rahul Gandhi has been in charge of the Bharat Jodo Yatra since September 7. The convoy has travelled 925 kilometres so far.

The Padyatra today started at 6.30 am at the BG Kere Underpass in Bommagondanahalli and will make its first halt at 11 am in Konsagrara. The padayatra is planned to have another stop at KEB Circle in Molakalmuru after starting the march again at 4 o’clock. It will spend the night at a ground close to the New Hotel Amrutha and Lodge in Chitradurag.

On the 35th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul was joined by the leader of the Karnataka opposition, Siddaramaiah, and the state congressman, DK Shivkumar.

DK Shivkumar, the head of the Karnataka Congress, also donned a t-shirt during the yatra that highlighted the “unemployment” issues in Karnataka.

The Congress leader highlighted the issue of unemployment while walking beside Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on the 35th day of the Yatra by donning a vibrant red T-shirt with yellow writing that symbolically represented Kannada colours.

Meanwhile, a separate polling place will be set up at the campsite for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the 40 Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) members who are participating in the Bharat Jodo Yatra to cast their votes for the party president.

On October 17, the voting for the Congress presidential elections is planned to take place, and the padayatra will stop for that day.

Jairam Ramesh, the head of the Congress, declared unequivocally that a voter simply needs an ID card to exercise their right to vote.

At the travelling camp, all preparations have been prepared for their participation in the Congress President election.

The vote will be overseen by the Central Election Authority, which is under the direction of senior party leader Madhusudan Mistry.
