RJD launches 'parrot' insult after CBI raids Lalu Yadav

The Supreme Court has branded the CBI as a “caged parrot” that speaks its master’s speech in 2013 (when the BJP was not in power at the centre).

The CBI was slammed by the Rashtriya Janata Dal on Friday after it filed a new case against Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was recently given bail in all five fodder scam cases, and searched 16 places. “They’re parrots!” the RJD tweeted. – a not-so-subtle reference to the Supreme Court’s 2013 remark that the agency is a “caged parrot” speaking in “its master’s voice.”

The RJD also slammed charges that Lalu Yadav was involved in a recruitment fraud involving railroads, tweeting: “Lalu ji gave a profit of ₹90,000 crores to the Railways… Lalu ji took recruitment in the railways for lakhs of youth and made the porters permanent… that Lalu ji is being raided after 15 years “… and the union (government) and Modi-Shah who sold railways, sold stations, stole 72000 posts are becoming honest,” the RJD tweeted with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

The new investigation against Lalu Yadav concerns suspected recruiting corruption between 2004 and 2009, when the former Bihar chief minister was the union railways minister.

According to the CBI, premium land was handed to Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in exchange for railway jobs between 2008 and 2009.

Massive police deployment was spotted at the residence of Lalu’s wife, ex-chief minister Rabri Devi, as searches were carried out. Protests from party leaders and workers erupted in response to the searches.
