Role of coaching centres found in Agnipath protest: Police arrests 9 Coaching Directors

Officials in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, stated that police have arrested 80 individuals in connection with the district’s violent demonstrations against the Centre’s Agnipath plan

Officials in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, stated that police have arrested 80 individuals in connection with the district’s violent demonstrations against the Centre’s Agnipath plan. Meanwhile, 9 Coaching Directors have been nabbed.

During the interrogation of individuals detained for violence and burning in Patna on Saturday, an official revealed that the participation of coaching centres was discovered during the current protests against the Agnipath Scheme across the country, including in Bihar.

In several regions of the country, particularly Bihar, anti-scheme rallies became violent. On Thursday, at least three trains were set fire. Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh revealed that the arrested people’s phones included inflammatory WhatsApp messages.

Patna DM stated, “We’ve been put on high alert. Video footage is being used to identify the individuals. Through WhatsApp chats from individuals detained, we learned about the role of 7-8 coaching centres. These messages were intended to be offensive.”

According to Singh, an FIR was registered against 170 persons, 80 of whom were detained so far.

Security troops have been deployed at several locations in Patna, according to the Patna DM.

Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad of Bihar, on the other hand, stated that the situation is returning to normal and urged demonstrators to be peaceful.

“The situation is returning to normal. Vandalism and arson are sad occurrences. The Centre has devised an excellent strategy for young people that will help them much. We implore the people of Bihar to keep the peace” Prasad explained.

Meanwhile, Bihar students’ organisations, backed by the All India Students’ Association, have proposed a 24-hour bandh today to demand that the government reverse its new military recruiting system, which was announced this week.

Protesters allegedly assaulted the homes of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi and Bihar BJP president and West Champaran MP Sanjay Jaiswal earlier this week.

Apart from Bihar, railway traffic was disrupted and train carriages were set on fire in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Telangana, among other states. Train services were disrupted, with almost 300 trains cancelled so far.
