Sharad Pawar on Saturday was re-elected to a four-year term as the leader of the National Congress Party

Sharad Pawar on Saturday was re-elected to a four-year term as the leader of the National Congress Party (NCP).

Sharad Pawar was unanimously re-elected as the party’s leader, according to Mahesh Bharat Tapase, the NCP’s chief spokesperson.

Notably, Pawar has held the position ever since he and P.A. Sangma and Tariq Anwar created the party in 1999 after leaving the Indian National Congress.

Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel are the party’s general secretaries at the moment.

Ajit Pawar, a member of the NCP, is the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly’s current leader of the opposition.

However, Sharad Pawar has argued for the unity of the opposition parties for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
