Pak PM Sharif rejects Biden's nuclear program risk comment

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, criticised US Vice President Joe Biden’s remarks about Pakistan’s nuclear weapons

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, criticised US Vice President Joe Biden’s remarks about Pakistan’s nuclear weapons capacity as “factually false and deceptive” and rejected them.

According to media reports, PM Shehbaz Sharif was cited as stating, “Over the last decades, Pakistan has shown to be a most responsible nuclear state, wherein its nuclear programme is controlled through a technically sound and watertight command and control structure.”

The statement went on to say that Pakistan has shown responsible management of its nuclear arsenal, characterised by a solid adherence to international norms, notably those of the IAEA on non-proliferation, safety, and security.

“There is a long history of goodwill and mutually beneficial relations between the US and Pakistan. It is crucial that sincere and long-lasting efforts are made to recognise the true potential of the Pakistan-US relationship while avoiding superfluous remarks at a time when the world is faced with enormous global difficulties. We really want to work with the US to advance regional security and peace” said Pakistan’s PM.

Biden has previously referred to Pakistan as “one of the most dangerous countries” in the world and said that it possessed “nuclear weapons without any cohesiveness.” At a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reception in Los Angeles, the US President said these things.

Biden mentioned Pakistan while discussing US foreign policy against China and Russia under Vladimir Putin. In his final statement, Biden declared Pakistan to be the most dangerous nation on earth.
