27 MPs in all, comprising 23 members of the Rajya Sabha and 4 members of the Lok Sabha, have been suspended for engaging in “unruly behaviour” during the current Monsoon session of Parliament.

According to information obtained, this represents Upper House’s highest single-batch suspension rate.

It’s expected that the 50-hour sit-in will finish on Friday at 5 o’clock. The sit-in protest was initiated on Wednesday afternoon by MPs who had been suspended for the week due to their “unruly behaviour and interrupting procedures” in the Parliament.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders Abir Ranjan Biswas and Derek O’Brien are among the MPs who spent the night outside. TMC MPs Dola Sen, Sushmita Dev, and Mausam Noor, as well as AAP MPs Sushil Gupta and Sandeep Pathak, remained at the protest site until midnight.

MPs set up mosquito netting for themselves on the second night beneath the stars.

MPs may be seen inside mosquito netting in a photo that TMC MP Derek O’Brien and AAP MP Sanjay Singh uploaded from protest venue.
