Terror Funding Case: NIA conduct raids at multiple locations in J&K

NIA conducted searches at numerous sites in Jammu and Kashmir today in connection with a terror funding investigation.

According to sources, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at numerous sites in Jammu and Kashmir today in connection with a terror funding investigation.

The locations searched by the Central Anti-Terrorism Agency are in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The raids are linked to the locations of individuals involved in an ongoing case of money produced through cross-LoC trade being used to incite terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, according to sources within the agency.

With the help of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies, including the Central Reserve Police Force, the suspects’ homes are being searched (CRPF).

Following accusations that it was being “misused” by individuals from across the border to smuggle firearms, narcotics, and fake cash, India halted cross-LoC trade at two places along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir indefinitely on April 18, 2019.

The LoC trade between Chakan-Da-Bagh in Jammu’s Poonch district and Salamabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was meant as a confidence-building measure (CBM) for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and those living across the LoC in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (Pok).
