In the midst of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, a demonstration against Pakistan was staged on Friday in front of the UN building in Manhattan, New York (UNGA).
Several organisations, including Jeay Sindh and the Indus Freedom Council, participated in the rally. Assemblies of Bangla, Hindu, and Afghan people also took part in the demonstration.
“We’re here today to voice our opposition to the Pakistani military and radical organisations. They committed three million murders and many hundred thousand female and girl rape in Bangladesh. They also forced millions of people to relocate, “one of the protesters remarked.
“We want Pakistan to face sanctions from the UN. We desire that they acknowledge this holocaust. The World Sindhi Congress (WSC), which is now holding the 51st session of the Human Rights Council, organised a sizable demonstration earlier on Thursday in front of the UN building in Geneva.
Exiled leaders of Balochistan, Kashmir, and human rights advocates from other European nations attended the demonstration.
The speakers reaffirmed that Pakistan continues to persecute religious minorities, murder individuals without due process, and enforced disappearances against Sindhi, Baloch, and Pashtun people.
According to WSC officials, Sindh is experiencing the biggest destruction in its 4,000-year history, affecting more than 20 million people and leaving more than 10 million homeless.
World Sindhi Congress Secretary General Lakhu Luhana stated, “The Pakistani government claims that climate change is to blame. There is climate change, but it hasn’t been shown by science to be the cause. There is plenty of evidence to show that they did it on purpose to drown Sindh and the Sindhi people “.
He added, “Millions of people are now affected, and millions of people are homeless. The world community must look into the genocide of Sindhi people since thousands of villages have been uprooted and it is an active act of genocide”.
