Supreme Court granted the petition of the Unnao rape victim on Friday, allowing the case against her to be moved from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi.

A case that is ongoing in court in the Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh has been requested to be transferred to Delhi by the Unnao survivor. The father of one of the defendants filed the complaint and claims that the survivor gave the police a fake proof of age paper. The petition claims that the ACJM court in Unnao issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) on the survivor.

Soutik Banerjee and Advocate Vrinda Grover defended the Unnao survivor.

Supreme Court moved the case from an Uttar Pradesh trial court to Delhi on August 1, 2019. Senger was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison in a separate case in December 2019 for raping the lady in Unnao in 2017 when she was a minor.

Former MLA Kuldeep Singh Senger had already been exonerated by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court in the 2019 accident case of Unnao rape survivor.
