Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar on Wednesday asserted during a lecture on “India’s Core Values, Interests, and Objectives” at the National Defence College (NDC) in New Delhi that the idea of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (to treat all people as one family) represents the “core value of our civilizational ethos.”

The Preamble to our Constitution, according to the Vice President, includes many of our core values.

Referring to the ‘Vaccine Maitri’ initiative that was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, VP Dhankar said, India has never had an expansionist attitude in its history.

VP Dhankhar praised the NDC for being one of India’s most powerful centres of strategic learning and noted that over the past 60 years, this remarkable institution has expanded both in reputation and prestige abroad.

Participants of the 62nd NDC course along with faculty members and Commandant of the National Defence College, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Mago, attended the occasion.
