Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale passes away on Saturday at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune.
The 77- years- old Gokhale had been hospitalised for some time and was on “life support.”
His corpse will be kept in Balgandharv Rangmanch for Antim Darshan.
According to a statement from the hospital, his final rites were performed at 6 p.m. at Pune’s Vaikunth Samshan Bhumi.
Following reports of the veteran’s passing on Thursday, various Bollywood superstars, including Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Aly Goni, and Jaaved Jaafery, flocked to Twitter to express their condolences.
Later, Dr. Dhananjay Kelkar of Deenanth Mangeshkar Hospital and the actor’s daughter both denied the rumours.
Gokhale has starred in over 40 Marathi and Bollywood films, including ‘Agneepath,’ starring Amitabh Bachchan in 1990, and ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,’ with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 1999.
He was most recently featured in the film ‘Nikamma,’ starring Shilpa Shetty and Abhimanyu Dassani. The picture was released in theatres in June of this year.
