Yashwant Sinha finalised as Oppn Candidate For Presidential Elections 2022

When he stated that he “must step away” from the party to strive for greater opposition unity earlier in the day, Trinamool leader Yashwant Sinha gave the clearest indication yet regarding his candidacy.

Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha, who served in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA administration, was today announced as the united opposition candidate for president. For the elections in July, the BJP has not yet chosen a candidate.

“We have made the decision to vote for a single candidate in the upcoming presidential elections in order to prevent the Modi administration from causing more harm. We selected Yashwant Sinha as the common candidate at a subsequent meeting held today. We urge all political parties to support Yashwant Sinha in the election “Jairam Ramesh, the media director for the Congress, read from a joint statement by the opposition.

In order for the country to have a “worthy Rashtrapati elected unchallenged,” the joint statement pleaded with the BJP and its allies to back Mr. Sinha’s candidacy.

When he stated that he “must step away” from the party to fight for stronger opposition unity earlier in the day, Mr. Sinha, a Trinamool leader, dropped the huge hint about his candidacy.

“In order to stop the Modi administration from doing additional damage, we have decided to support just one candidate in the next presidential elections. At a subsequent meeting conducted today, we decided on Yashwant Sinha as the common candidate. We request that Yashwant Sinha be supported in the election by all political parties “The opposition’s joint statement was read aloud by Jairam Ramesh, the Congress’ media director.

The joint statement begged the BJP and its supporters to support Sinha’s campaign so that the nation might have “a worthy Rashtrapati elected unopposed.”

Sinha, a Trinamool leader, gave a strong hint about his candidacy earlier in the day when he said that he “must step away” from the party to work for stronger opposition unity.
