New Delhi: Soon, you will be able to upload 360-degree photos on Facebook using your smartphone. Facebook on Thursday announced the launch of this new feature.
The photos can be uploaded just like the regular images. One simply needs to capture a panorama on phone or a photo with a 360-degree app or camera and simply upload it like any other image.
The images will also show an animated ‘360’ icon on feeds to let others know they can play around with them.
Apart from photos taken from 360-degree cameras, panoramic photos taken on a mobile phone can be converted to a 360-degree view on the newsfeed, the company said on Thursday. The photos can also be seen in virtual reality compatible devices. You will also be able to watch 360 photos with VR headsets as well.
A similar service was launched by the company for video in the month of September last year.
