Google celebrates Teacher’s Day

New Delhi: With India celebrating Teacher's Day on Monday, search engine Google paid its tribute to the teachers in its own way - an adorable doodle.
Landing on the Google homepage, users will come across a series of hopping and jumping pencils. While the smaller pencils portray students, the bigger pencil which is leading them portrays a teacher.
In the doodle the large pencil is seen reading and teaching out of a book, while the pencils that are following the big pencil are seen walking, skipping and jumping in amusement.
Teacher's Day is celebrated by students in all schools and colleges with special programmes to express gratitude towards their teachers and mentors.
In India, Teachers' Day is celebrated annually on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second president of India. Dr. Radhakrishnan, an eminent educationist and philosopher, also received the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award.
On this year's Teachers' Day President Pranab Mukherjee also marked the day by delivering an hour-long lecture in a government school.
