Even though Android L (5.0) was launched in fourth quarter of 2014, there were several many bugs in the update. In spite of launching Android 5.1, many users complained about the memory leak issue. It is expected that this update will fix the Memory leak bug and will provide more reliable Android experience.

The latest ‘update package’ measures around 11.8 MB. It does not bring any UI changes but it has been majorly focusing in providing better performance and eliminating bugs.

The new update will be available to users through OTA (Over The Air) and if you still have not got any notification, it can be manually checked by going into Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

Till now, only the Indian version of Android One is receiving the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware. There has been official announcement regarding Android 5.1.1 release date for Android One devices in other countries. But, it is expected to roll out in Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Philippines soon.

Though there is no information about bugs or any problems in the new update, but if you are on the latest Android 5.1.1, we will love to hear your experience, so do share what you feel in the comments section below.
