Why are peace efforts with Pakistan always followed by disruptions? Was the Lahore hug the trigger for the Pathankot attack? Was the Pathankot operation a success or a failure?

On the roundtable, former Delhi police DG Kiran Bedi, Major General (retired) Ashok Mehta, Commodore (retd) Uday Bhaskar and Former Additional Secretary of RAW Jayadeva Ranade discussed and analysed what went right and what went wrong during the Pathankot attack with NewsX senior Executive Editor Priya Sahgal. 

It was a general view of the panellists that there were gaps both at the border and the periphery wall. Why was it scalable so easily even if it was 11 feet?
