Kolkata is poised for a major infrastructure change with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation allocating a huge Rs 1,800 crore for the city’s infrastructure development for 2017-18

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation launched a first of its kind trauma care centre for dogs in the city. The centre will have veterinary surgeons registered under the West Bengal Veterinary Council.

The Central Bureau of Investigation started probing Narada sting operation after Calcutta High Court’s directions. CBI officers collected the video footage from a nationalised bank’s locker.

Work has finally started to clear the 573 encroachments on railways land between Noapara and Jessore Road. These encroachments had held up extension of the Metro network up to the airport for the last five years.
