Crime wrap: Six youths arrested for robbing businessman in Delhi; DRI conduct raids at Chennai port

  • DELHI: Delhi Police have arrested 6 youths on charges of robbing a businessman of Rs 25 lakh. One of the accused, 25-year-old Najeeb, is a leader of Aam Aadmi Party youth wing.

  • MUMBAI: Police have arrested AIMIM corporator Shahnawaz Shaikh and 16 others for the violence that broke out outside the Trombay police station on Saturday after an objectionable post was uploaded to Facebook.

  • BENGALURU: Madhukar Reddy, the man who was arrested in Chittoor for attacking a banker inside an ATM in November 2013 in Bengaluru may be sent back to Andhra Pradesh due to cases lodged against him there.

  • KOLKATA: The owner of the Shimmers Bar in Salt lake was arrested from Delhi, a week after a man was severely injured during a drunken brawl when it was open well beyond the closing hours on Holi morning.

  • CHENNAI: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence continued its search operations for fake notes at the Chennai Port Trust for the 2nd consecutive day. Similar operation is also underway at other ports in the state.
